Yamaha XV1600 WildstarPorky's XV1100 Virago

Yamaha have always built good replica bikes, so in the mid eighties Yamaha came out with the XV1100 Virago. It looked like a Harley and with the right pipes, it even had that low-down grunt of a Harley, but... and here's the clincher, it was half the price of a Harley.

With a seat height of just 28 inches (that's just one inch higher than the XV125) it's a comfortable ride for the vertically challenged!

Like a good woman, this bike was built for comfort rather than speed and will cruise along effortlessly all day at 80mph. Like any bike though, it's only as good as it's rider and whilst some may consider it's long wheelbase makes it rather unwieldy in towns, others can throw these bikes around with ease, although they will scrape the tarmac if you lean into your corner too sharply!

All in all, this is a good all-round cruiser which will purr along quite happily with all your rally/camping paraphernalia. In fact, it's surprising just what you can fit on this bike.
