The Road Star was introduced by Yamaha in 1999 and was marketed as the Wild Star in Europe. A facelift in 2004 increased the capacity from 1602cc to 1670cc. Electronic Fuel Injection was introduced for the first time in 2008. It was withdrawn from new sale in the UK in 2003.

The good news is that there are a number of dealers in the UK who continue to import these bikes brand new from the USA. So if you still fancy one it’s not too late.

Robin’s bike is a 2006 model  which he bought new from DK Motorcycles in January 2007. Like most Road Stars it did not stay in stock for very long and has so far benefited from the following modifications/accessories:-
